Today we’re calling out some chic travel shoes called OTBTs. This brand is designed for comfortable travel wear but they are just as useful in the office and when you are out and about on weekends.

The sizes tend to run large, so you might need to order a size down, but they are supportive, functional, and versatile enough to be paired with casual or dressier outfits.

The OTBT mary jane’s offer an attractive adjustable strap, a nice alternative to a pair of everyday leather flats.

Crocs leather wedges: a pleasant surprise

Who would’ve guessed that Crocs could move beyond their comfortable (but ugly) signature clogs and create comfortable, attractive sandals? It’s worth suspending your disbelief for a moment to try them on!

These leather wedges feature real leather straps in combination with the soft, lightweight Crocs footbed that we’ve all grown to love. Crocs are especially good for those with wide feet (if you have narrow feet, maybe not a good idea…).

Aerosoles sandals: Spring is here!

Spring is here, and summer is just around the corner! So it’s time to talk about comfortable summer sandals – starting with Aerosoles.

Aerosoles is one of those brands that is everywhere you go and kind of inconsistent, but some of their winners can be both comfortable and very reasonably priced.

I’d recommend searching online for the most variety, including everything from wedge sandals (high and low) to gladiator and thong sandals with memory foam insoles. You can often find fun summer sandals for $40, so they are great impulse purchases for dressy or casual wear.

Sidekicks Foldable Flats: Rescue Your Feet

I received Sidekicks Foldable Ballet Flats as a gift, and they were a lifesaver at a wedding I just attended! I pulled them out of my purse and changed into them at the end of the evening when I was tired of wearing heels. Immediate relief for my feet! They are so convenient and comfortable that I even changed into them on my flight home. I now leave a pair in my carry-on for work travel!

I should caveat that Sidekicks are NOT intended to be shoe replacements. They are pretty cheap and fairly thin flats (they have to be to fold up into a tiny pouch) that you can wear when you need a break from your real shoes. But there is no support – these are not comfortable enough to walk around in for a long time! They are just temporary.

After doing some research online about other inexpensive foldable flats, I discovered that Sidekicks generally get the best reviews for comfort, but my one complaint is that the sizing only comes in Small, Medium, Large, and XL. So you might have to try two sizes and return one to figure out what fits you best. They claim that this is how the shoe sizes match up but I wouldn’t place a lot of confidence into it, as I was on the border of Small and Medium:

Small: 5-6.5
Medium: 7-8
Large: 8.5-9.5
X-large: 10-11

Tieks by Gavrieli: foldable designer flats

Thanks to Tara M. from Denver for recommending Tieks, high-end Italian leather flats designed to fold and fit in your purse.

Since being featured on Oprah’s O List (and being spotted on Oprah’s feet on her TV show), their popularity has gone through the roof! These days, I notice women wearing Tieks ballet flats with their signature teal soles everywhere I go, whether it’s the office or the grocery store.

Sure, they are very pricey for flats, but you might consider these if you want to invest in higher-quality shoes for multi-year, multi-purpose wear. And Tieks also come in a hundred colors to choose from!
